In this article, we'll help you turn that coincidence into something more favorable. Discover 5 strategies to be more creative and work with your team.
What kind of mussel are you? And your teammates?
Some get an external stimulus, by following a workshop. Others talk about an idea with a colleague, and are helped with a few specific questions. Others gain a new experience. For example, you may notice that when you start a new hobby, new connections are made? Or others only become really creative when they read books.
However, creativity is so necessary for everything we do in the workplace. We don't want to keep re-entering the beaten path. We want new, innovative ways to reach our target group. We want to develop new and relevant products that really matter. We can use creativity strategies for that. That way we can use that chance cleverly.
Mussels from brossels developed 5 strategies to give chance a helping hand. Give chance a helping hand (without chat gpt). Discover your preferred creativity technique.
We got our inspiration from the eternal search for creativity, and were greatly inspired by a book by Jeroen Hopster, about coincidence.
“For me, creativity is really a lottery. No idea how it will come to me.”
The lottery mussel does not actively behave to be more creative. He simply waits, until luck comes his way. It is his fate, or it is not. If it is not, then he is unlucky.
Not really a strategy, to be creative, but many people look at creativity passively. So can it be a strategy?
The mussel is like a spider. She works purposefully to spin her net. She has an active attitude to help luck along. She sits and waits, but not passively.
For example, she will subscribe to the right magazines. She will go to networking events that could provide ideas.
“I quietly creep towards that “accidental” creativity.”
The experi-mussel is more of a bee than a mussel. It is constantly on the move. From flower to flower. “Oh, try something there”, “Oh, I haven’t tried that yet”.
He likes to travel around. Gaining new experiences. Seeking adventure and his comfort zone.
He would rather try a little too much than a little too little.
Experiment, experiment, for those who try hard, creativity will come.
For the prep mussel, a trained mussel is worth two.
These mussels often say of themselves that they are not really creative. But nothing could be further from the truth.
Thanks to meticulous preparation, they often stumble upon new ideas. They practice. They analyze what they like. That's how they come up with ideas that the others haven't even thought of.
But do they believe in themselves?
The curi-mussel has a wonderfully open mind. It is the curious, or curious mussel. She has an open mind and a broad view. Can very easily make new connections. She is receptive and associative. She has no blinkers.
It is precisely because of her disposition and personality that she finds new ideas so easily.
She is, despite what her name might suggest, mainly vegan.. (Sorry, lame joke)
Whatever mussel you are. Creativity can come. You just have to be aware of it. That is why we developed the workshop “Give your team a creativity boost”. Experience which strategy works for you. Get to know each other better. Come home with a barrel full of ideas.
